Overview:

Designed by Wolveridge Architects in collaboration with Smith Builders, Sorrento 3 is situated in Sorrento on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula within walking distance of Sorrento Village and both ocean and bay beaches. This organically rich coastal award-winning home was designed and built as a speculative development. The target market was semi-retired couples who would use the home on their own or with their families and/or friends. The layout needed to be flexible to allow for various occupancy scenarios. The home site, which is situated below road level, created an aesthetic challenge for Wolveridge Architects.

This contemporary home offers the very best amenities with a fluid and flexible floor plan allowing the home to be zoned for energy efficiency depending on the number and mix of occupants in residence at any time. Rammed Earth, recycled timber, Blackbutt and Matrix cladding create a striking organic and low maintenance exterior whilst rammed earth, timber flooring, extensive timber battens, timber veneer and 2 pack cabinetry, woollen carpet and high-quality porcelain tiles create a warm and welcoming interior. An extensive deep verandah along the north/ west elevation provides welcome shade in the Summer months and yet allows an abundance of sunlight into the home in the Winter months. Large skylights with automated exterior blinds allow light to flood into the kitchen and butlers pantry. An irrigated coastal garden complete with lush lawns and a fully tiled pool complete this lifestyle home. A truly beautiful home which was awarded 2019 HIA Australian Spec Home at the 2019 HIA – CSR Australian Housing Awards in Perth in May 2019.
